Research Help Appointments

Schedule an appointment at the calendar link below to get uninterrupted individual time with a librarian. 

A reference librarian can work with you on:

  • coming up with a research topic or question
  • finding credible and useful information on the web or in a library database
  • evaluating sources and citing them

Things to know about appointments:

  • We offer 30-minute appointments, either online or on the phone. 
  • Appointments must be made at least 24 hours in advance.
  • Please bring your assignment with you to the appointment.

To make an appointment:

  • Click on an available appointment slot in the calendar.
  • Be sure to log in with your PCC email address when prompted and then sign in with your normal PCC username and password.
  • Make sure you are not using a personal (non-PCC) Gmail account to book the appointment.
  •  A librarian will email you to confirm your appointment.

Helping Yourself!

PCC Library has many resources that you can use on your own. Each campus library offers quiet study spaces as well as study rooms you can reserve. (NOTE: During the campus closure, you cannot visit PCC campus libraries or reserve study rooms)

The Library also has video tutorials on everything from how to develop a topic for your paper to figuring out how to incorporate citations into your paper. You'll find those videos, as well as information about using e-resources, at Tutorials and Handouts.

Help from Tutors

Fall Term Online Tutoring: September 27 – December 9, 2020

Tutors from PCC’s district Academic Support centers have joined together to offer FREE ONLINE TUTORING.

Experienced faculty, alumni, professional and student tutors from all campuses are available for free online drop-in (no appointment necessary) tutoring and scheduled online appointments. After connecting with a tutor using Zoom or Google Meet, you will be able to interact with the tutor by using a microphone, a webcam, or a text-based chat box. Your tutor will use an interactive whiteboard to diagram concepts and you can share your screen to review documents and clarify course material together.

Tutoring is available in:
  • American Sign Language (ASL) and Sign Language Interpretation (ITP)
  • Electronic Engineering Technology (EET)
  • ESOL
  • Math
  • Sciences: A&P, Biology, Chemistry, & Physics
  • World Languages: French, Japanese, Spanish
Appointments are:
  • One-on-one scheduled time with a specific tutor 
  • Available outside of drop-in tutoring hours
