Earth Week at Portland Community College
Portland Community College will celebrate Earth Week April 21 - 25. All week long, you will find tabling fairs at each campus with numerous giveaways, activities and resources. Other events include aromatherapy in the garden, films, upcylcled earring making, a poetry learning garden workshop, visit by baby goats, queer nature walk, Rock Creek forest clean up party, Kindness Farm Field trip , and so much more!

Climate and Environmental Literacy
One of the themes of the Earth Day organization is Climate and Environmental Literacy. These PCC Library research guides provide reliable - and sometimes entertaining! - resources for getting started.
- Climate ChangeLearn about the scientific and social impacts of climate change, as well as these related issues:actions and solutions to address climate change; climate grief; climate denial; climate justice; and the PCC Climate Action Plan.
- Cli-Fi (Climate Fiction)"Cli-fi" (rhymes with sci-fi) is speculative fiction that addresses climate change.Novels provide an alternative to dreary data and graphs as we grapple with the implications of human life on a warming planet. This guide provides recommendations of engaging, thought-provoking climate fiction stories and novels.
- Climate AnxietyClimate anxiety, sometimes called eco-anxiety or climate grief, refers to the feelings of sadness, loss, fear and hopelessness caused by climate disruption. This guide has resources for understanding and addressing these emotions.
