How to search for and identify editorials, opinions (op-ed)

How do you search for and identify an editorial or opinion article?

Using a web search engine, search on your topic of interest, and add the words "editorial" or "commentary" or "opinion" or "op-ed" to the words in your search string. Here are some examples:

opinion OR editorial OR op-ed AND college athletes AND money OR sponsors

commentary OR opinion AND Gen Z AND politics OR voting

When selecting an article, skim around the page to find evidence that it's an opinion or editorial piece of writing, and who the author is:

opinion headline with the word opinion circled and underlined in title of the article

Most news sites have a section for Opinions, including Letters to the Editor, Columnists, Editorials and Guest Opinions
