Ophthalmic Medical Technology: Study and Support at the Library

Study rooms can be reserved in advance for two hour increments, either for a designated quiet place to study, or for a designated quiet place to take an online exam. There are also smaller study rooms in the library that can be used on a first-come, first-served basis.

The PCC Wifi network has recently been upgraded and can be accessed on campuses and inside PCC libraries. Be sure to choose the PCC Wifi and not the Guest Wifi, and use your MyPCC username and password to log on.

PCC libraries have many different types of equipment for check out, including webcams, headphones, Chromebooks, laptops, Wifi hotspots, calculators, and more.

Inside each PCC library is a computer lab with PCs for students to use. Use time is unlimited for currently enrolled students, and lab techs are available to help with logging in and help with things like printing.

Each computer lab inside the PCC library provides both black and white and color printing. Students have $10 (100 double sided pages) automatically on their printing account to use each term. If that money gets used up, students can add their own money to their printing account using a debit or credit card. Lab techs are available at each library computer lab to assist with printing questions. Students can also print wirelessly from their own devices inside the PCC library. Digital Navigators are guides who address the whole digital inclusion process – home connectivity, devices, and digital skills – with students and community members. Digital navigation support includes ongoing assistance with affordable internet access, device acquisition, technical skills, and application support. Digital navigators are available at the PCC libraries for drop-ins during the scheduled times listed in the link above.
