The PCC HARTS Initiative was founded in 2016 on the premise that the humanities and arts should be an essential component of education in the 21st century. Because the humanities and arts lie at the heart of every human culture, they are essential for understanding cultures and navigating differences.

- National Endowment for the HumanitiesThe National Endowment for the Humanities is a federal agency that was created to fund and support humanities programs throughout the United States. NEH grants help all kinds of cultural and educational institutions, such as museums, libraries, colleges, and public television and radio. The NEH also offers grants to individual scholars in the humanities.
