For your annotated bibliography assignment, you are required to include at least one scholarly sources about your chosen community. The scholarly source can be "a peer-reviewed academic article or chapter in a scholarly collection related to your chosen discourse community." This guide provides pointers for finding and reading scholarly sources. 

Use the tabs to navigate through the other pages of the guide:

  • Background Information & Web Searching - Find general information on your sources.
  • Evaluate - tips and tutorials on how to evaluate sources for credibility and relevance.
  • Scholarly Articles - Find articles written by experts that provide evidence rather than opinion or reporting, and have gone through a peer review process. What is a peer reviewed article? Find out!
  • Cite Sources - Guidance for creating citations and annotated bibliographies in MLA or APA format
