Photograph of Tommy OrangeTommy Orange is a writer from Oakland, California.  He earned an MFA from the Institute of American Indian Arts and he is an enrolled member of the Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes of Oklahoma. There There is his first novel and it won the 2018 National Book Critics Circle Award's "John Leonard Prize" for first book by a new voice and was a finalist for the 2019 Pulitzer Prize, among other awards.
