Geography courses / Kheirabadi: Welcome

Library resources to find sources that address the critical thinking questions in Geography courses.

In this Guide

This guide has been designed to assist you with answering your critical thinking essay questions.  As your instructor has indicated, after thoroughly reading your required readings (textbook chapters, etc.) you are asked to conduct some independent outside research to find out what others, particularly scholars who are experts in their own fields, are saying on the topic.

Use the tabs above to navigate through the other pages of the guide:

  • Start Your Research - Finding background information in online encyclopedias, concept mapping your topic, and brainstorming key terms for searching.
  • Find Sources - Find books and articles related to geography topics available through the PCC Library and beyond.
  • Evaluating Sources and Peer Review - Describes what peer-review is, the differences between scholarly and popular sources, and how you can tell if a source is academic/scholarly.
  • Cite Sources - Tips and tools for citing sources and avoiding plagiarism.
  • Get Help - Get help from a librarian 24x7, get support from a tutor, or find a handout or tutorial to help you with your research.
