What is ecotourism?
According to the International Ecotourism Society, ecotourism is:
“responsible travel to natural areas that conserves the environment, sustains the well-being of the local people, and involves interpretation and education”
The island country of Palua requires visitors to sign a pledge to "preserve and protect" the island environment. Read about it in a National Geographic article from 2017.
To find ecotourism destinations, do a Web search for ecotourism places. You'll find lots of ideas!
If you want to search by country, use the country name and the word ecotourism. For example, montenegro ecotourism.
