Plant Hardiness Zones Map
This map will help you figure out what plants can be grown in Oregon. Seed companies use zone numbers to describe where seeds will grow well. We are mostly in the 8a or 8b zone -- any seeds that grow in zone 8 should grow here.
Master Gardeners
- Metro Area Master Gardenersare volunteers who have taken classes and have many garden skills, and help people who want to start gardens. They are great at answering questions!
Seed libraries!
When you use a seed library, you can take a small amount of seed at no cost, and if you save seed from your garden you can donate some next year. There are several seed libraries in our area -- two in Clackamas County, one in Milwaukie, and one in Banks. They are all located at public libraries.
