Sustainability Focus Award (information for students)

The Sustainability focus award recognizes students who have completed a broad range of sustainability-related courses. The award is designed to encourage you to see environmental issues from multiple perspectives and to increase your experience in this multidisciplinary topic.

Subjects you can study include:

  • Eco-innovation and social entrepreneurship
  • Ecology
  • Environmental literature
  • Environmental science
  • Global climate change
  • Habitats
  • Social change

What will you do?

By earning this Focus Award, students demonstrate a deep and broad understanding of the interdependent social, economic, and environmental pillars of sustainability from multiple perspectives and at least three different academic disciplines.

Focus Awards are not to be confused with degrees or certificates, are not officially recognized by the state, and do not appear on transcripts.

Sustainability Focus Award Requirements

  1. A minimum of 16 credits.
  2. Include courses from at least 3 different disciplines.
