This guide goes along with the PHL 195 Community Based Learning Project. Learning objectives for this assignment:
- Read and understand the arguments made in a scientific paper
- Compare and analyze the difference between a scientific paper and a popular article on the same topic, recognizing the culturally based perspectives, values, and beliefs in the popular article.
- Recognize and evaluate how the science on a topic might be applied in the Cascade Learning Garden. Construct an argument on the topic, looking at it both scientifically and philosophically. Identify and investigate philosophical theses and evaluate the information you have and the sources of the information.
- Present your findings in a format that can be shared with the Learning Garden coordinator.
